In 2023 Fiat 500e is leading the electric city car market in Europe for the second year in a row

  • Leader in the European A+B BEV segment with a market share of 14.7%.
  • First in 5 countries - Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Austria – in the BEV city car segment.
  • Stellantis' best-selling BEV, Fiat 500e is sold in 44 countries around the globe. 
In 2023, the Fiat 500e has confirmed its European leadership with significant results.
Olivier Francois, FIAT CEO and CMO Global of Stellantis, stated: “The Fiat 500e has once again confirmed its success, leading the electric city car segment in Europe for the second year in a row. The 500e registered more than 185,000 units globally since its launch and it is playing a relevant role in the green transition of international metropolises. The 500e is currently sold in 44 countries around the globe, continuing the Brand electrification journey around the world. We offer simple, intuitive and socially relevant solutions, while always putting our customers' needs at the very center.”
The success of FIAT’s electric jewel is confirmed by brilliant sales results: since its launch in 2020 the 500e has been the most sold electric city car in Europe and the best-selling EV of Stellantis Group.
Last year the 500e was number 1 in Europe in the A+B BEV segment with a market share of 14,7%, increased by 0,3 p.p. compared to 2022, despite the decrease of the segment -5%. In addition, it ranked first in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Austria; second in France, and fourth in Portugal and Poland.In Europe, Fiat 500e sold nearly 65,000 units.
Looking at the BEV industry, in a context of growing attention to environmental issues, in 2023 the 500e placed itself on the podium in Italy and Germany and fourth in France and Spain. Considering the BEV industry in the 10 largest European markets, Fiat 500e ranked fourth.
Designed and made in Turin, the 500e is a symbol of Italian creativity and is winning over fans of Made-In-Italy products throughout the world. Its success is also highlighted by the 42 international prizes, making it the most awarded FIAT model ever.
Last year, the Fiat 500e family got much bigger with a little sister, the Topolino, and a big sister, the new 600e, to complete the Brand’s electric offering and continue to lead the path of electrification.
